Enabling Excellence in Distributed Learning for the Department of Defense
2007 Research Activities

Enhanced Version Control for the ADL Registry
Northrop Grumman Corporation - Joint Forces Staff College - Knowledge-Media, Inc. (KMI)
Phase II of their FY06 effort. Engineer a web-based tracking system (VCS - Version Control System) that notifies ADL-R users of changes to learning content.

Learner Assessment Model for Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3)
Engineering & Computer Simulations, Inc. (ECS)
Phase II of their FY06 effort. Research and development of authoring tools for Tactical Combat Casualty Care which are capable of capturing learner assessment data in an interoperable manner such that it can be used across multiple learning and training systems.

Supporting Team Training in the JADL Integrated Prototype Architecture (IPA)
BBN Technologies - Aptima
Phase II of their FY06 effort. Develop key components and interfaces of the IPA to enable DoD's requirements of game-based (immersive/experiential) distributed team training. Focus is on extensions of the architecture to support experiential team training, culminating in an integrated demonstration employing the SCORM RTE and DTECS for team training.

Distributed Learning Interoperable Modular Intelligent Tutoring System
Stottler Henke - Imedia.it - IST
Develop and demonstrate a prototype of the IPA using a specific training system platform - the Command and Control Vehicle (C2V).

Extension of SCORM Based Learning Content into Game Based, Multiplayer Training Environments
Forterra Systems - IDSI - Rustici Software
Research and propose standards as well as develop a sample capability around the concept of extending SCORM-based learning content into multiplayer game environments. It will examine how to adapt multiplayer games so that they can work in conjunction with other training content.
